I came to complete my complain post about Yi Ying. I'm really fed up with her.

That time she failed the Literature common test(it's only normal, LITERATURE IS A HARD SUBJECT) and she looked like her eyes would burst into tears anytime soon. And she kept complaining that that's just cause she forgot to put quote marks in her answer. Obviously she couldn't come up with any more reason, because it was her fault that she didn't pay attention to the teacher when he repeatedly reminded us that. And she also couldn't lie about her marks because the teacher read out everyone's marks to check that he recorded the marks correctly. She had gotten 9 out of 30. How pathetic. But I'm not going to pity her for that.

I received an SMS from her. It was a forward message but it could very well be that she made up the message and sent to me to insult me for being such a pig. Well if I'm one, then her standard is equal to me or worse or just slightly better. Because we both got into Nan Hua. But technically speaking, I got a higher aggregate score and my IQ wouldn't drop that rapidly, so it's probably that she's worse.

Anyway, the SMS goes like this:

Who says English is easy?

Don't believe? Then fill the blank with either 'YES' or 'NO'

"oh ___, I am a pig."

See? So if you can't answer, send to another pig.

I found this really idiotic. I sent it back to her, saying "I can answer, so I sent it back to you."

She didn't reply. I wasn't expecting one, but it would be real entertaining. If you get my hint.

Either it was really horribly phrased or the person really had nothing better to do. No, I mean both. Let's have a little lecture on.

Firstly. The 'question' is not clearly stated. Also note that filling a blank is not a question, it is a request. And for the questions "Who said that English was easy?","Don't believe?" and "See?" were obviously rheotorical questions. Nevertheless, the answers would be 'countless people','yes' and 'no' respectively.

But of course, many people misunderstand that filling a blank is not a question. Because the exam papers say so. One day some one should write a letter to Cambridge.

Secondly. Everyone realises that what ever choice you put in the blank, you have to admit you are a PIG. Why would it matter? And why would that be a question? I mean is that a difficulty? What's there to see? It doesn't explain anything! It just makes you admit you are a pig, which may be difficult for some people, but that does not mean English is difficult!

And when you put a yes or a no, you already answered the 'question' because you fulfilled the request. So you don't have to send to another pig (although you don't have to take orders from the person because he/she has no right). And by the way, it makes it even more dumb because you CANNOT hope that putting a no or a yes will stop you from admitting you are a pig!

Simply because, "oh ___" is a subordinate clause(no, I am not talking about Santa's elves) and "I am a pig" is a main clause. THEREFORE, regardless of what the subordinate clause says, the main clause still has its meaning and stands on its own!

Also, you should have no difficulty admitting you are a pig because you have lied many times while writing essays. What a pinochio. Also, it is not difficult to realise that whichever answer you put results in "I am a pig." even if you don't use the subordinate clause concept. And you must understand, if you were asked if you were a pig, you would answer, " Yes, I am a pig." or "No, I am not a pig." instead of "Oh ___, I am a pig." The sentence is an expression! This also proves that the 'question' does not mean that English is difficult or not, rather, the person who started this chain message is one hell of a guy(I am lazy to add a '/she' for the following, so please assume the person is a boy) to dumbly put that question in.

Finally. We can conclude that the person who started was finding an excuse to make English sound difficult or plainly finding an excuse why he cannot admit he's a pig. However, he did make the people who continue to forward this message dumb, but we must not ignore that fact that there are people who blindly forward messages, forward messages for the sake of it, and those who do not manage to get it and forwarded it.

And there are some people who sent it back to their sender to prove how dumb that person is. And managed to make English sound so difficult despite efforts to prove how English is NOT CHEEM. Good night.
