Wow my second post today?
But I really have something to say and I have no other idea where to put it down.
So I was following this debate on Facebook about whether God is a by-product of human thinking.
I shall put my 2 cents worth.
First, I try not to read too much into faith and religion. It's a sensitive topic. Especially if it means discrediting and putting down the credibility of another's faith. Everyone should and ought to be allowed to have their personal opinion.
If there is conflict, then please let it be rather than argue on whether whose opinion is right or wrong. Leave it. Seriously.
When you read too much into it, you'll start to separate people by their opinions for their faith. Their faith, compared to yours.
Sure, when you believe in something, you know you're right. You just don't have to prove it.
Of course, actually, I'm more of an atheist than anything. Still, there is no definite proof yet, so you don't just go dispelling others' religions.
What's more, I actually respect people who have strong beliefs. They are the people with a lot of determination and trust in them and that's really something incredible.
The moment you're trying to dissuade others from their belief with your thinking, it feels quite selfish.
Until there is absolute fact and evidence, don't do it.
I'd hate to say it, but in a multi-cultural society, it's best to keep opinions to yourself. Freedom of speech is limited.
